Onboarding Checklist (Junior)

This checklist is used before being given independent maintenance access.

A. Access & Environment​

  • The repo can be cloned and the dependency installation is successful.
  • npm run build green docs.
  • Local applications can run (refer to setup-local).
  • Have access to non-production environment logs.
  • Understand the team's escalation path.

B. System Understanding​

  • Read overview + architecture.
  • Understand the core modules of module-map.
  • Understand roles/permissions from role-access-matrix.
  • Understand the critical state of state-machine.
  • Understand the core endpoint of api-reference.

C. Daily Operations​

  • Can check the log and find relevant errors.
  • Can validate data with basic queries.
  • Can run pre-deploy checklist.
  • Can run post-deploy checklist.
  • Can write short incident notes.

D. Mandatory Simulation​

  • Simulation of 3 tasks from common-maintenance-tasks.
  • Simulation of 1 schema change following change-data-playbook.
  • Simulation of 1 rollback in staging.
  • Simulation of 1 end-to-end troubleshooting case.

E. Pass Criteria​

  • All simulations are verified by senior reviewers.
  • There is no "immediate execution" step without a backup/rollback plan.
  • Communication of change status is clear and documented.
